Scope
This notice covers the Sidegrain website and Sidegrain-operated products unless a product presents a separate privacy notice for a particular feature or service.
ReconVerify source data
ReconVerify's current validator is designed to read supported spreadsheet, CSV, delimited-text, and pasted reconciliation inputs locally in your browser. The validation flow does not require an account or a file-upload action, and Sidegrain does not intentionally receive the source files or row-level reconciliation data as part of that validation flow.
Your browser, device, extensions, network, or other software outside Sidegrain's control may have their own data-handling behavior.
Information we may receive
Depending on how you use our sites and products, Sidegrain or service providers acting on our behalf may process limited information such as:
- information you send us directly, including your email address and the contents of messages sent to hello@sidegrain.com;
- basic request and device information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service, such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, requested URL, and request timing; and
- limited analytics information where analytics is enabled, as described below.
Analytics
Sidegrain uses one private analytics property for sidegrain.com and Sidegrain-operated products that participate in this minimized analytics design. Records are separated by a fixed product hostname, such as sidegrain.com, reconverify.sidegrain.com, stockroute.sidegrain.com, or photolabspecs.sidegrain.com. Sharing the analytics property does not introduce cross-product visitor identifiers, profiles, or session tracking.
On sidegrain.com, analytics is limited to aggregate page counts for the home, privacy, and terms pages together with predefined counts for clicks to ReconVerify, StockRoute, PhotoLabSpecs, and the Sidegrain contact address. The browser sends only predefined event and route identifiers to a Sidegrain-controlled first-party endpoint, which validates and minimizes them before forwarding a server-constructed record to our analytics provider. Sidegrain does not install the provider's standard browser tracker.
Where ReconVerify launch analytics is enabled, it similarly collects aggregate page counts for a fixed set of ReconVerify pages together with predefined validator and local-report usage events. Successful ordinary validations send only fixed categories for all-passed or needs-review, the presence of five broad finding families, one of four coarse input-size bands, reruns, and runs after mapping or tolerance changes. These are aggregate event counts, not unique reconciliations, users, sessions, or user-level funnels. Deliberately tagged ReconVerify distribution links may also record an exact predefined distribution-source and campaign category and carry only those two categories to selected validator events in the same browser tab/session. Arbitrary campaign values are not accepted, no visitor or session identifier is created, and this limited attribution is not retained across browser sessions.
ReconVerify analytics does not intentionally include reconciliation source data, filenames, worksheet names or contents, mapped column names, transaction IDs, match keys, descriptions, dates, row numbers, amounts or totals, tolerance values, exact row or exception counts, exact failed-control counts, exception values, full report contents, or arbitrary validation-result properties. Raw URL query strings, fragments, referrers, browser or device details, geolocation, and visitor/session identifiers are also excluded from analytics. Reconciliation source data and detailed validation results remain in the browser.
On StockRoute, analytics is limited to aggregate page counts and a small fixed set of interaction counts for agency navigation, the Sidegrain link, and the contact link. StockRoute does not intentionally send source-link destinations, query strings or fragments, raw referrers, browser or device details, geolocation, or visitor/session identifiers to the analytics provider.
On PhotoLabSpecs, analytics is limited to aggregate page counts and fixed events for checker use, lab filters, lab source links, and the correction link. The browser payload contains only a predefined event and route. The checker does not upload images, and analytics does not include pixel dimensions, selected print size, crop amount, effective PPI, lab-result text, arbitrary properties, visitor or session identifiers, raw referrers, or query strings.
The first-party analytics endpoints do not intentionally forward incoming visitor IP addresses, browser User-Agent strings, cookies, raw referrers, or Cloudflare geolocation headers to the analytics provider. The analytics design does not use session replay, heatmaps, DOM capture, advertising trackers, device fingerprinting, Distinct IDs, or cross-product identity. Page and predefined event counts are used as directional metrics rather than precise unique-visitor measurements.
You can disable or later enable analytics using the analytics control shown in the footer on sidegrain.com, ReconVerify, StockRoute, and PhotoLabSpecs. The sites also respect the browser's Do Not Track setting where supported.
Service providers
We may use service providers for infrastructure, hosting, security, analytics, and email. They may process limited information on our behalf to provide those services. We do not sell personal information or use Sidegrain product data for targeted advertising.
Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate and secure the services, respond to communications, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods can vary by the type of information and the service involved.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights regarding personal information about you. You can contact us to ask about information Sidegrain holds about you or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
We may need enough information to verify and respond to a request.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Sidegrain products and data practices change. When we do, we will update the date shown above.
