Scope
This notice covers the Sidegrain website and Sidegrain-operated products unless a product presents a separate privacy notice for a particular feature or service.
ReconVerify source data
ReconVerify's current validator is designed to read supported spreadsheet, CSV, delimited-text, and pasted reconciliation inputs locally in your browser. The validation flow does not require an account or a file-upload action, and Sidegrain does not intentionally receive the source files or row-level reconciliation data as part of that validation flow.
Your browser, device, extensions, network, or other software outside Sidegrain's control may have their own data-handling behavior.
Information we may receive
Depending on how you use our sites and products, Sidegrain or service providers acting on our behalf may process limited information such as:
- information you send us directly, including your email address and the contents of messages sent to hello@sidegrain.com;
- basic request and device information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service, such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, requested URL, and request timing; and
- limited analytics information where analytics is enabled, as described below.
Analytics
Where ReconVerify launch analytics is enabled, it uses a small predefined set of product-usage events to understand whether its validator and local reports are being used. The browser sends these minimized events to a ReconVerify-controlled first-party endpoint, which forwards them to our analytics provider for aggregate reporting. ReconVerify does not install the provider's standard browser tracker.
These events do not include reconciliation source data, filenames, worksheet contents, mapped columns, transaction details, amounts, exception values, or validation outcomes.
ReconVerify's launch analytics does not create ReconVerify visitor or session profiles. It does not use session replay, heatmaps, DOM capture, advertising trackers, or device fingerprinting. You can disable or later enable analytics using the control in ReconVerify's footer.
Service providers
We may use service providers for infrastructure, hosting, security, analytics, and email. They may process limited information on our behalf to provide those services. We do not sell personal information or use Sidegrain product data for targeted advertising.
Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate and secure the services, respond to communications, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods can vary by the type of information and the service involved.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights regarding personal information about you. You can contact us to ask about information Sidegrain holds about you or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
We may need enough information to verify and respond to a request.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Sidegrain products and data practices change. When we do, we will update the date shown above.
